ANIMALS OF SOVEREIGN'S REST

Sovereign’s Rest is an island created by the Overlord, complete with its own natural ecosystem of animals. These creatures are born within the island and function much like real-world wildlife, each with a natural role in the food chain and environment.

In order to sustain and strengthen his power, the Overlord has also brought select beings from other realms—such as shifters and legendary creatures like minotaurs—to inhabit the island.

Animals born on the island are ordinary creatures such as:

  • Cats

  • Dogs

  • Deer

  • Rabbits

  • Birds

  • Rodents

  • Fish and sea life

  • Livestock animals

  • Certain reptiles such as snakes, turtles

  • Limited insects are also part of the ecosystem.
     

These animals behave as they would in the natural world. While players may roleplay animal characters such as a cat or wolf, these characters are limited to normal animal intelligence and instincts. They do not possess advanced reasoning, speech, or humanoid-level cognition.

Large animals or exotic animals such as lions, tigers, elephants and bears are not on this island. The larger predators of the animal kingdom are not needed.

PLAYING NATURAL ANIMALS

Players may choose to roleplay as a natural island-born animal, such as a cat, deer, or other creature that exists within the world. These characters behave as real animals would—hunting, exploring, and surviving within their environment.

Before choosing this role, players should understand:

​

• Animals will not be welcome in all areas or buildings, and may be treated realistically. A deer entering a tavern, for example, may be seen as food.

​

• Predatory characters may view your character as prey rather than a companion. While this is a consent-based roleplay environment and your character cannot be killed without permission, players are free to react naturally.

​

• Communication with humanoid characters will be extremely limited.

Players wanting more interaction are encouraged to play a shifter, were-creature, or fantasy beast instead.
