TO BE MORE HUMAN OR NOT TO BE HUMAN
The Overlord not only brings in humanoid beings but some beings that are more animal than human. These fantasy and supernatural beings come from all places.
These beings include, but not limited to, shifters, werewolves, centaurs, minotaurs, and other similar creatures.
Fantasy Creatures have different levels of human traits.
No-human traits - Unicorn, Griffon, etc
Just a pinch of human -Minotaur
Partial human - Gorgon, Centaurs, fauns
A human and Animal form - Shifters and weres.
When choosing what fantasy creature to play, it is important to understand how these well these creatures interact with humans. Some will have an easy time with fewer limitations due to their ability to communicate and understand humans.
Characters that do not possess the ability to talk or the knowledge to interact with humans as easily will have this as one of their flaws.

Fantasy creatures and supernatural characters are found throughout many different types of lore. Some races are deeply connected to forests and nature, while others are tied to oceans, mountains, caves, or other unique environments. Players are expected to portray their characters in a way that reflects their original lore and to follow the guidelines outlined on the Character Creation page.
For many of these creatures, their lore has determined their character's alignment. not player choice.

Werewolves and shifters

In Sovereign's Rest we do not have talking animals. If the race you have chosen doesn't have the ability to speak, then it cannot speak. We do know that some players lover playing animals and not being able to communicate can make the roleplay difficult. So we have come up with a few options for our fantasy animal loving Players.

OPTION #1
Play the Character as written
Players may choose to roleplay the creature strictly as it exists in its lore and natural behavior, and seek assistance from the Magister's Coven, when communication or interaction support is needed.
OPTION #2
Fantasy Shifter Option
CHOOSE 1 FANTASY ANIMAL TO SHIFT INTO (This only applies to Fantasy characters that are all Animal)
Players may choose to play their creature as a Fantasy Shifter. This means the character has both a human form and the ability to shift into a single, specific fantasy animal (e.g., Unicorn or Pegasus). While these creatures are not traditionally shifters in lore, this option is allowed to support communication and roleplay accessibility.
If this option is chosen, the character will follow standard shifter rules, including their associated strengths and flaws. The creature’s abilities remain tied to its animal form and may only be used while in that form.
Non Speaking Fantasy Creatures - More animal than human

A character's abilities and flaws come from their Lores. Read the Abilities and Flaws section of Character Creation to see what you character can pick. Below are a few suggestions for some of the creatures.

Lore Flaws
All fantasy and supernatural creatures have flaws built into their stories. (werewolf and moonlight). Players should keep the Flaws that are part of the original lore (vampire vs. sunlight). We are expecting all players to play fair and honest in using the correct flaws.
In addition to the Lore and Inherent flaws, Players should then pick at least 1 more flaw. (There are no limits on the flaws characters can have) See Flaws in Character Creation for more information.
