STARTING YOUR MAGICAL JOURNEY
For all witches/warlock to use magic they tap into it. The magic on the island is unlike anything its inhabitants have used in their own time or place. When a new witch or warlock attempts to tap into it, they quickly discover that something is off balance. No matter what they try, their spells will backfire on them.
However, this attempt does not go unnoticed. The island itself responds.
The moment they reach for magic, a reaction is triggered, one that is felt immediately. A presence calls out to them, and an image of a dark crystal forms in their mind. They will feel an undeniable pull toward it, a quiet but persistent summons guiding them to its location.
If they fail to find the crystal within two days, the pull to find the crystal fades completely. The desire to find the crystal will stop until the magic user tries to use their magic again. (Your ability to use magic will not work until you find the crystal)
There is no time limit for when you activate your magic, that is up to the player.

It is not until the magic user tries to use their powers or do a spell do they hear the voice again and comes just after the spells or abilities backfires or does not work at all. Finding the Crystal
Once you find the crystal and follow the instructions on the notecard it provides, you will find yourself in the company of other magic users.
We won’t spoil the details here, but for the next two weeks (or longer, if needed), you will have the opportunity to learn how to properly activate and control your magic.
The Veiled Sovereign and others will offer guidance when necessary.
